Gusti Umindya Nur Tajalla is a lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan working within the Materials and Metallugical Engineering Department. She received her bachelor degree (S.T.) at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia, in 2015 and her master degree (M.T) at the Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, in 2018.
Gusti gains the research interest in material innovation, especially nanomaterial and biomaterials. Her research includes producing silver nanoparticles via green synthesis using unique and original plants from Indonesia. Furthermore, these silver nanoparticles are incorporated in polymer bone scaffolds to improve their antibacterial properties. In addition, she is developing an oil palm empty fruits bunch-based composite for sound and thermal absorbers in the building. She inspires to contribute by utilizing the plantation waste and adding value to enhance the local economy.
